Trust & Safety
How we keep the marketplace fair, safe, and worth using.
"What stops a buyer and seller from just exchanging numbers and cutting out the platform?" Great question. Here's our multi-layered approach:
The $250–$500 deposit means buyers are committed. Walking away from the platform means losing that investment — and the convenience that comes with it.
We don't reveal which dealer (or full seller identity) until you're past a point of no return. If someone walks away and tries to deal off-platform, we've already retained a fee — so it pays to complete the deal in mmmyep.
Every successful transaction builds your reputation. Bypassing means no recorded transaction, which hurts your rating. High-rated users get priority matching.
Secure messaging with audit trail, financing comparison, shipping quotes, pre-populated Bill of Sale, documentation of mmmyep's charitable donation on eligible deals — all in one place. mmmyep makes the gift; any charitable tax treatment accrues to mmmyep, not the buyer.
The small platform fee is worth it when you consider all the services bundled together. It's less than what you'd spend driving to five dealerships.
Deposit amounts: $250 for vehicles under $10K, $500 for vehicles over $10K. The deposit is required when you set up your search and is refundable if no match is found within your window.
This isn't a generic listings feed: our team may email verified dealerships when a deposit-backed buyer's search lines up with dealer parameters or inventory — and private sellers may be surfaced when the fit is with their specific vehicle. Reach isn't tied to a single local market the way a classifieds site is; it's driven by criteria and what you've listed. We share search criteria only — never maximum budget or personal contact details. Buyers still choose every engagement; dealers see normal in-product signals after you connect. Outreach is optional, logged, sent at a careful pace so we don't spam, and aligned with price privacy.

mmmyep is for serious buyers who are ready to commit within their search window. The table below is a plain-language summary; the binding rules are in our Terms.
Your search ends with no completed deal before the expiry you chose (e.g. 90 days or up to 6 months). Or you withdraw before a price is agreed — your deposit is refunded.
After you agree on a price, backing out without a documented mutual agreement, or missing the 7-day finalization window, can mean the deposit is forfeited or retained per Terms (including repeat withdrawals after price agreed — we may restrict future searches).
On a successful deal, part of the deposit is applied as the platform fee (split with the seller and buyer credit per our fee schedule — see How it works). That is not a "refund" in the sense of money back to your card — it's how the fee is collected.
On successful deal (fee split)
Listings under $10K: mmmyep gives the seller $25; $50 is taken off the sale price for the buyer. Listings over $10K: mmmyep gives the seller $50; $50 is taken off the sale price for the buyer. A portion goes to a charity you designate; the donation is made by mmmyep (charitable tax treatment accrues to mmmyep).
What we already have on record: mmmyep retains the full in-app chat thread between you and the other party. For each deal, the buyer can also confirm structured yes / no acknowledgements — for example that they accepted inspection results, disclosed scratches or imperfections, and an on-site visit and test drive (or documented exceptions agreed in chat). Those flags create a clear audit trail alongside the messages.
Escalated review: If you believe the standard deposit rules don't fit what happened — especially when you think a larger refund is warranted — use the Disputes section on your engagement page to open a case. That starts an escalated, human-in-the-loop process: our team audits the chat history, your stated reasoning, and those acknowledgements, and may follow up with both sides. Outcomes can take several business days and may include full refund, partial adjustment, or confirmation of forfeiture, aligned with the Terms. You can also contact support with your engagement ID if you prefer email.
